Can you help?

Can you help?  Do you have knowledge about Kinmel Park Camp?  Do you know someone who has?

We have been contacted by Cwmni Da who are producing a series for broadcast on BBC Radio Cymru.
They are producing a short series about a soldier who was killed in Mametz during in WW1. By referring to the letters he sent home, they hope to follow in his footsteps from his home in Mid Wales, to college at Aberystwyth, to the training camp at Rhyl and then his movements with the BEF on the continent.

radioThey are looking to find someone with specialist knowledge about the training camp at Rhyl at that time who might be willing to help with this portion of the story. Ideally this would be a Welsh speaker who would be willing to be recorded for the programme, however this is not essential as the producer, Ifor ap Glyn, would still very much like to learn about the camp history so that they could include details in a narrative instead.

If you can help please e-mail the club: rhylhistoryclub@gmail.com or ring us (details on our “About us” page).

I would imagine that they know of the book, Kinmel Park Military Training Camp 1914 to 1918, by Robert H Griffiths, published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch.
